Places to eat, drink and be merry

We are aware for some there’s going to be a while between the ceremony and the evening party, so we’ve put together a selection fo things you can do around the city.

THE PETERSFIELD, 2 STURTON ST, CB1 2QA

01223 306306

Delicious food and great beer. Just a stones throw away from the wedding venue, make sure you book a table!

HOT NUMBERS, Gwydir St, CB1 2LJ

Perfect for a caffeine hit with a light lunch. The closest of all the establishments to St Barnabas. It’s one of our favourite spots in Cambridge. So much so Tim wants to work there.

THE SALISBURY ARMS, TENISON RD, CB1 2DW

01223 576363

With a selection of Pizza, Pots & Pints, The Salisbury is a short walk around the corner from the wedding venue with boardgames and a great atmosphere. Bonus points if you win at ring hook first time.

OLD TICKET OFFICE, CB1 2JW

01223 859017

Part of the same family as the Petersfield; expect great food, a wide selection of ales and the feeling of being in a 1940’s ticket office… (the clue’s in the name)

Grantchester

Take a stroll to Grantchester meadows, or maybe through Cambridge to the backs and explore the University side of the town. There may even be time to grab a bite to eat at The Orchard Tea Gardens or the Red Lion.

Maybe you could find the spot where Tim proposed, beware of cow pats and hopefully there won’t be random dog walkers all around this time…

Punting

Head down to the river and hire a punt. Beware, the stories you are told by punt guides aren’t necessarily as true as the may seem. You can head either way down the river; along ‘The Backs’ and past the Cambridge colleges or out towards Grantchester meadows. Either way - Be sure not to fall in!

Botanical Gardens

If you fancy a relaxing afternoon head to the Botanical Gardens. Just a 10 minute walk from the church it’s £6 well spent.
